Mark Your Designs and Follow the Lines
Thursday, November 12, 2015; 1-4pm
I've learned a few things over the years (I won’t say how many), and I'm happy to share! Learn and practice my 3 simple and effective ways to mark your freemotion quilting designs before you quilt them. Especially appropriate for those of us who seek more control in our free-motion practice (yes, it’s an oxymoron), these marking techniques deliver big. You’ll receive printed quilting designs to use, along with special papers that make even the most complicated quilting designs a snap to quilt.

Tsukineko Inks Basics
Friday, November 13, 2015; 2:30-5pm
Learn to use these versatile inks in two ways: to add delicate, controlled color for highlights or tinting with the fantastix™ applicators, or to add bolder color to create your own fabric color schemes by adding ink to unscented aloe gel. You’ll learn to tint photo transfers or add color to your labels. I bring some fabric samples for you to play with; you'll be surprised at how easy these inks are to use for both traditional and art quilters.

Designing Meaningful Memory Quilts

Using the worksheet from my book, Creating Celebration Quilts, and my experience designing and creating many of my own celebration quilts, brainstorm ideas for unique and personal designs. You’ll leave with specific ideas and next steps for creating your own memorable celebration quilt!

This Foot is Made for Walking: Quilting with a Walking Foot

Machine quilt without fear or intimidation! Just leave the feed dogs up and let the sewing machine determine stitch length. It’s easy!  Class will cover basic machine quilting in straight lines, quilting parallel lines, stitching in the ditch, quilting with decorative machine stitches and my favorite “get it done” method using wavy lines and pretty threads. Leave class with samples, confidence and a brain full of ideas.
