Color!

This quilt was my final response to the Mason Dixon Quilt Professionals' Network challenge: To Color  or Not to Color.  What do you think of when you hear the word color?  Crayons?  Me, too.  Binney & Smith, the company that owns Crayola, was very kind to give me permission to use this image as the basis for my quilt.

I wanted the crayons to be the only color present in the quilt; the rest is grayscale.  The crayons were assembled using white glue and then machine appliquéd around the raw edges.  I used QuiltWriting to add my own names for the colors. The writing on the crayon package is painted.
